It Can Happen Here

P otentia Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company developing therapeutics "primarily in the area of age-related macular degeneration" likes doing business in Louisville and sees the possibilities of accomplishing great things here.

The company moved to Louisville in 2003 - after considering a start-up program at Harvard -- in part because Dr. Cedric Francois, a co-founder and CEO, was working with the University of Louisville's hand transplant team. Potentia now has 13 employees and hopes to grow in Louisville.

"It's not the obvious place by any means, but we've really grown fond of this place. I think it can happen here," Francois said.
